Police communiqué |06 May 2015

The police have started an investigation after a 23-year-old male of Cascade was stabbed early Sunday morning at the Old Port near the Seychelles Fishing Authority building.

According to report, the victim was found in a pool of blood and he was transported to the Seychelles Hospital where he was later admitted to D’Offay Ward with wounds under his neck, back and shoulder. His condition has been described as stable.

The police are also investigating another wounding incident and a 54-year-old man of Belonie was apprehended on May 3, 2015.

According to initial investigation it was on Saturday May 2, 2015 at 10.55pm that the suspect who was under the influence of alcohol stabbed his wife and nephew at Belonie.

Both casualties were brought to the Seychelles Hospital where they received treatment. His wife was admitted to Hermitte Ward and her condition has been described as stable. The nephew was released.

The suspect appeared before the Family Tribunal Court on Monday where he was convicted to six months imprisonment for using violence against his family members.

However, the police are carrying out their investigation to establish the circumstances of the case.

A 44-year-old lady of Caïman, Anse Boileau, was on Saturday night admitted to Hermitte Ward after her concubine burned her with hot water.
 
According to information the 47-year-old suspect also of Anse Boileau was under the influence of alcohol when this incident happened. The victim was transported to the Seychelles Hospital with blisters on her chest, right side breast, back, face. Her condition has been described as stable.

The suspect appeared before the Magistrate Court on Monday and he has been remanded until May 11, 2015 when he will reappear before the court.

The incident was reported at 11.25pm and the suspect was apprehended 20 minutes later.
