Red Cross appeals for donations to help Nepalese quake survivors |06 May 2015

The Red Cross Society of Seychelles has launched an urgent appeal for funds to help survivors of the earthquake that struck Nepal last week.

Donations can be done through the Red Cross Society of Seychelles Barclays Bank disaster account number 1069230 or at the Red Cross headquarters at Providence.

Red Cross volunteers on Mahe will also be around Victoria on Friday May 8 as of 10am to collect donations from members of the public and on Praslin, volunteers will be at Grand Anse and Baie Ste Anne respectively.

The Red Cross Society of Seychelles is counting on the generosity of members of the public to help alleviate the suffering of survivors who have lost everything in the April 25 7.8 magnitude earthquake between Kathmandu and Pokhara which caused more than 4,000 deaths, left thousands injured and a trail of destruction in its path.

The Red Cross Society of Seychelles is also calling on other organisations, groups, ministries, businesses, faith-based organisations etc. to come up with initiatives for the benefit of this cause.

For more information the following Red Cross personnel can be contacted: dissemination, communication coordinator Linda Gerry on mobile number 2503578 and secretary general Colette Servina on mobile number 2520433. The office number is 4374544.
