Intermittent fault causes power outages in east, west Mahe |14 May 2015

An intermittent fault on the overhead electricity lines is making power supply go off in the Montagne Posée, Au Cap, Anse Aux Pins and Pointe Larue areas.

The electricity division of the Public Utilities Corporation said this situation has been going on for a few days, adding that because the fault is intermittent, it is proving difficult to establish its exact location on the line.

However, the Public Utilities Corporation would like to reassure its customers that its engineers and technical staff are working around the clock to ensure that the fault is located and rectified as soon as possible.

Until such time that the problem is rectified, customers residing in the Montagne Posée, Au Cap, Anse Aux Pins and Pointe Larue areas are advised that there may be further unplanned outages.

The Public Utilities Corporation would like to thank all customers for their understanding and it regrets the inconvenience caused by the power outages.
