Four drug trafficking suspects arrested |27 June 2015

 

 

 

Four persons, three females and one male, were taken into custody by the NDEA (National Drugs Enforcement Agency) on the evening of June 24, 2015 on charges of suspected drug trafficking.

Those arrested were found in possession of approximately 139 grammes of drugs, some 80 grammes of which was suspected heroin and the remainder cannabis. The drugs have a street value of approximately SR310,000.

The agents had been targeting the area where the arrests occurred and at approximately 1800 hours intercepted a car in which the suspects were travelling and made the arrests.

All four have been remanded to appear in court on July 2, 2015 pending the outcome of analysis and investigations that are a necessary component in cases of drug trafficking.

The seizure brings the total value of drugs seized this year to over SR163.7 million in the course of 27 trafficking cases.

Two of those arrested are self employed business persons, one is a bar attendant and the fourth is unemployed.
