Police communiqué |02 July 2015

The police have opened an investigation after a police officer who was riding a motor cycle was transported to the Seychelles Hospital following an accident which occurred yesterday afternoon opposite the Krishna Mart supermarket on 5th June Avenue.

According to report the police officer on the motor cycle was travelling towards Perseverance and upon arriving at the Krishna Mart supermarket a Nissan car being driven by a 37-year-old driver of Anse Royale and which was in the middle lane collided with the motor cycle. The car was entering the car park when it collided with the motor cycle which hit against the railing and ended up on another car which was in the parking area.

As a result the police officer was injured in his right leg and was taken to the theatre of the Seychelles Hospital where he received medical attention.

Breathalyser test was conducted and no trace of alcohol was found. The incident was reported to the police at 2.10pm.
