DBS donates printer to UniSey |03 August 2015

The Development Bank of Seychelles (DBS) has generously sponsored the University of Seychelles (UniSey) with a new all-in-one printer.

This forms part of the partnership between UniSey and the DBS.

A ceremony was organised on Friday July 31, 2015, at the UniSey Anse Royale campus, for the official presentation of the printer.

Veronica Vidot, the public relations and marketing officer at DBS, said that “the development bank acknowledges the important role which UniSey is playing in equipping the existing and future workforce of the country.  We have no doubt that the students leave UniSey with the skills and knowledge required to make a significant contribution to our economy”.

“As the only development bank in Seychelles, it is our role to promote its socio-economic development, therefore it is a privilege and honour to donate this photocopier on behalf of DBS to the Student Support Services.”

On behalf of the university, Melina Josephine, an officer from the Student Support Services, thanked DBS for its generous donation.  University students usually print or make numerous copies of programme or course materials.  Thus, the heavy duty machine will enable the students to use the service at a low cost and the money collected will be used to fund the activities organised by the Student Union.

Ms Josephine outlined that when UniSey contacted DBS, the bank did not “hesitate to respond positively to our demand” and the “university is thankful in your gesture in supporting the students”.

To conclude, Ms Josephine said that the partnership between UniSey and DBS illustrates the significance of collaborations between institutions.

She also mentioned that the UniSey values the continued support with the DBS and looks forward for an ongoing relationship.

The ceremony ended with Ms Vidot presenting the all-in-one printer to Dr Justin Valentin, Dean of the Faculty Business and Law at the UniSey.
