Four artists join forces on collaborative album |29 August 2015

Four artists from the Leverage group, namely Maestro (Jean-Paul Cadeau), Manu (Manuel Sullivan), Micko (Michael Marie) and Djen have launched a collaborative album entitled ‘Lanbyans ek Vibrasyon’.

The group, who was the winner of the 2013 National Day song competition under the name ‘Limitless’, is back with an exciting album, comprising various genres of music.

The group comprises eight members including musicians, who collaborated on the musical arrangement.

The 15-song album covers pertinent and meaningful themes relating to spirituality, love, life, socio-economic realities and human conditions.

Besides the four above mentioned artists, the other members of the group are Jose Chang King (guitar), Manuel Sullivan (bass), Lambert Albert (percussion). The group’s manager/producer is Ringo Joubert.

Ringo says that all members in their own right have their musical background and influences and consequently this is reflected in the output.

The songs on the album have been performed using live instruments instead of programming, as the group believes in musicianship and putting a soul in the music instead of mechanical programming.

Ringo adds that they wanted to create quality work that anyone -- from ordinary music lovers to those who are musically adept -- to appreciate and love.

“The recording has taken over two years in view of the exigencies for the highest level of quality with regard to the materials that we are striving for,” says Ringo.

If you want to listen to that masterpiece from Leverage, you can buy the album at Dam’s Enterprise and Ray’s Music Room for R125 a copy and with Mr Joubert for only R100. He can be contacted on tel : 2525362.
