Ephelia chef to take part in international cooking expo |29 August 2015

 

 

 

A Seychellois chef working at the Constance Ephelia Resort, Joel Constance, will take part in an international live cooking expo to be held in Italy next month.

Still young, energetic, passionate and full of enthusiasm for his job, Chef Constance is so privileged and flattered not only to represent the Constance group but the Seychellois Creole cuisine in the prestigious Milan World Expo on the Etihad stand from September 3-9, 2015.

Indeed this specific week is the Seychelles Week at the expo therefore the Constance group had been approached to send a Seychellois chef to do some live cooking and PR during that time.
“Most of all it is a great opportunity and privilege for us because it will be only the Constance Hotels which will be represented during that week on the Seychelles stand,” a spokesman for the hotel said.

Mr Constance arrived at Ephelia with considerable experience, having worked at some of the islands’ leading hotels, including Maia and Hilton. At Ephelia his job and responsibilities entails overseeing all aspects of the operation in the kitchen. This includes covering a wide range of roles – from cooking and creating menus to coming up with recipes and other special meals to taste and sample.

He also does presentation and plating as well as overseeing the kitchen staff. When he can, he leaves the kitchen to mingle with the clients during meal times, to hear first-hand reviews from those sampling his culinary delights. During the live cooking show which will take place from September 3 to 6, Mr Constance will also cook a few dishes for three events which will be attended by trade, press and VIPs from Etihad, Air Seychelles and Alitalia.

The Constance group has wished Chef Constance all the best during the Milan World Expo.
