Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta moved to October |02 September 2015

The second Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta which was scheduled for this weekend will now be held in October. The new dates retained for the event are October 9-11.

The change was announced by the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St. Ange, during a meeting with the local press yesterday morning at his office in the Espace Building.

Mr St Ange has given the ongoing bad weather which is expected to prevail during the weekend as the reason for the postponement.

“As the Meteorological Office has forecast heavy rains during the coming weekend, we prefer not to take the risk and so have decided to postpone the event to October,” he said.

Added to the culinary contest, the three-day event is supposed to include activities like a road show, dinner dance, ‘bal kreol’, kiosk competition, fishing competition, hype beach party, musical show as well as entertainment by various bands from Praslin and Mahé.

The Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta was organised for the first time last year. For the forthcoming event, the organisers have promised to come out with an updated programme soon.
