‘Seeing more Seychellois claim back their tourism industry is encouraging,’ says minister |04 September 2015

It is encouraging to see more Seychellois claiming back the tourism industry, responding to the call made by the government.
These words were said by the country's Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange after he visited the Enchanted Island Resort located on Round Island in the Sainte Anne marine park. 

Minister St Ange, who was accompanied by the principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune, said the visit was to see how the resort was doing after its first year of operation.

During the visit, Minister St Ange and Mrs Lafortune were given an overview of the main challenges faced by the resort.  One of the main concerns raised was people doing barbecue on the beach without seeking permission.

Lighting up a fire on the beach can be a hazard to the resort. Clients enjoying their peaceful holiday there have also complained about the smoke coming from the barbecues. The management team is not against people using the beach but those wishing to do so, need to seek permission first and must abide by certain rules such as not to light up fires on the beach.
