An exhibition is being held to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Everlasting Love Ministry (ELM).

The exhibition, which opened yesterday at the Espace building, showcases all of the organisation’s main achievements and successes in its programmes held during the five years of its existence, especially those organised with its partners in relation to Social Renaissance campaign and also the launch of their first magazine entitled ‘Lespwar’ and a second gospel album ‘Eleve e Briye’.

This first ever exhibition being held under the theme ‘Zezi i lanmour’ was officially launched by Alvin Laurence, chief executive of the Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC) in the presence of Vice-President Danny Faure, principal secretary for social affairs Linda William Melanie, members of ELM, youths and other distinguished guests.

The ELM is a non-governmental and non-denominational organisation with the goal of reaching out to the youth of Seychelles.

Since its creation in 2012, many activities, including outreach programmes and other projects, have been organised to bring about the ministry’s vision which is to gather the youths without discrimination while pulling them out of negative lifestyle bringing love and hope to all.

For his part, the ELM chairperson Jude Fred stressed that the youths have a major role to play in the development, functioning and stability of the society and that they continuously need to be equipped and trained to help them play that role effectively.

“As an organisation we have made it our primary responsibility to help facilitate this more than often challenging stage of development, which involves several negative activities that have become a point of concern for the country,” he said.

He also echoed words of thanks to the government, the churches and all its other partners which have supported the organisation and its vision.

The executive director of the JJ Spirit Foundation Marymonde Matatiken said a few words on behalf of all partners.

A member of ELM since 2012, Kenny Perreau gave a heartfelt testimony of his experience while Shayenne Ernesta, Mary Moncherry and Savio Ragain who took part in the ‘Bring it on’ talent show sang their originally composed songs.

Mr Fred and Mrs William Melanie cut the anniversary cake for the auspicious occasion.

The exhibition is being held for two days only and it will close today (Saturday) at 3pm.
