John Stravens chairs STA’s board of governance |18 September 2015

John Stravens has been appointed chairperson of the Board of Governance of the Seychelles

Tourism Academy (STA) by the Minister for Education, Macsuzy Mondon.

The appointment came into effect since June 1, 2015.

Mr Stravens is a Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) councilor and former chairman of the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association (SHTA). He was also an ad’hoc on the SCCI Board of Councilors and was elected as a councilor during the annual general meeting of the SCCI early this year. Very active within the tourism sector, Mr Stravens is also the chairperson of the SCCI sub-tourism committee that was created by SCCI chairman Marco Francis.

He sits on different national committees and was lately appointed together with Mr Francis on the National Arts Council (Nac) board by Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St Ange.
