Parti Lepep supporters join in victory motorcade
Parti Lepep supporters turned out in full force on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the party’s candidate, James Michel’s victory in the presidential run-off.
Mr Michel won the second round of the presidential election to be re-elected for a third and final five-year term after polling a total 31,512 or 50.15% of the popular vote to beat Wavel Ramkalawan of the Seychelles National Party (SNP) who got 31,319 or 49.85%.
President Michel joined in the victory motorcade which started in Victoria.
The celebrations had begun soon after the much-awaited results of the election were announced in the early hours of Saturday morning.
