Police Communique |05 February 2016

The police have reported that four people were transported to the clinic where they received medical attention following a vehicle accident which occurred at Barbarons late yesterday morning.

According to information, an SPTC bus travelling from Grand Anse towards Anse Boileau collided with a parked pick-up near Ramajaram Supermarket while overtaking the said pick-up.

The bus then went on to again collide with a car travelling in the opposite direction causing damages to the right sides of both vehicles.

Victims of the accident were all from the pick-up and they were complaining of pain in the neck, bruises on bodies, swollen face, etc. Two of the casualties were transported to the Seychelles Hospital for further treatment where their conditions have been described as stable.

Breathalyser tests have been conducted on all three drivers whereby reading for the SPTC driver was found to be above the prescribed limit and he has been detained by the police.

No traces of alcohol were found in the body of the two other drivers.

This accident is being investigated by the police.
