Firm supports two kids in need of special care |10 February 2016

Two children in need of special care have received a donation of R20,000 each from the International Food Solution PTY LTD based in Providence.

The donation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) engagements.

The lucky recipients of the donation are two-and-a-half-year-old Lushauntea Renaud from Au Cap and seven-year-old Alexander Brown of Anse Aux Pins.

It was the two children’s mothers – Ketsa Dufrenne and Prisca Brown respectively – who collected the donation from company representatives Radha Krishna Yandra and Ebrona Henriette during a short ceremony on Monday morning at the Orion Mall arcade.

Also present were Jon and Barbara Wybrow of Spendless Boutique who were instrumental in securing the donation.

According to Mrs Dufrenne, Lushauntea was born prematurely and looking very small and frail she encountered medical problems which prevented her from sitting, walking and talking.

“This donation will help me a lot. It will help me buy special food for her as she eats special blended food, buy a special wheel chair with shoulder traps that would allow her to sit upright when eating for she is mostly lying on her back on the bed. Maybe with some of my own savings or other sponsorships I can add these to the donation so I can send her overseas for special treatment. I believe that one day she might be able to either walk, sit or talk,” said a confident Mrs Dufrenne whose daughter was with her at the presentation.

Mr Dufrenne said she had to quit work to attend to her daughter’s needs.

As for the other child, Alexander, his mother Prisca Brown said he was born with cerebral palsy and he doesn’t walk or talk.

“With the donation I will be able to buy some things for him such as a comfortable chair, physio gym ball, diapers, etc.,” said the employed single mother who is very grateful for her mother’s help while at work.

Both mothers thanked the International Food Solution for the generous donation and also thanked Mr and Mrs Wybrow heartily for their kind support.

Mrs Wybrow said she and her husband also help kids in need in the society by seeking sponsorships.

“The idea of choosing the two children for this sponsorship came from Dolly Joseph, mother of Jushua Joseph who also received help for a similar medical condition but who sadly passed away last year. We asked her to help us in finding kids with similar medical condition as her son as she knows other kids with these conditions out there. We will always try and help people in need if and where ever we can,” said a smiling Mrs Wybrow.

According to company representative Ebrona Henriette, the motto of International Food Solution PTY LTD for this year is ‘Helping the community’.

The company, which has been in operation for two years, specialises in food supply for hotels and catering businesses and some of their products are available for the public in some shops on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.
