Air Seychelles has been awarded four prestigious accolades at the 2016 World Travel Awards, including the title of ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline’ for the second year running.

In addition to winning the coveted title, the Seychelles-based airline was presented with awards for ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Business Class’, ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Economy Class’ and ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Cabin Crew’.

Air Seychelles picked up the awards at a red carpet ceremony that was held on Saturday on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar and attended by the airline’s chief executive Roy Kinnear and senior management team.

Congratulating the national airline on its success, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport Joel Morgan, who is also the chairman of Air Seychelles, said: “Winning four highly-prized accolades at this year’s World Travel Awards, and beating our record of three in 2015, is an incredible achievement for Air Seychelles that demonstrates its commitment to being the best airline in the region.

“This accomplishment caps off a period of great growth at Air Seychelles that has seen it improve many aspects of the travel experience, on both its international flights to Mahé and domestic island-hopping services.

“Air Seychelles continues to push the boundaries of what can be achieved by a boutique airline and by doing so, it is making a valuable contribution to our tourism-based economy.”
