Seychelles hosts first Afro-Asian international expo |27 April 2016

Traders and manufacturers from India, South Africa, China, France, Iran, Egypt, Mauritius, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Singapore will come together to present and sell their savoir-faire under the same roof in the first Afro-Asian International Expo being  organised here from April 29 to May 4.

Organised in collaboration with the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) the expo is expected to be an exclusive showcase for Asian and African manufacturers to reach the African market with their products.

Scheduled to take place at the NSC Hall, Roche Caïman, the event is being coordinated by Rajasthan Works Ltd, a well-established Mauritius-based company renowned in the world of consumer shows.

Members of the public visiting the expo which will open officially at 9am on Friday April 29 will be able to see, appreciate and buy from a large variety of products from the countries mentioned and these will include different types of food products such as Iranian dry fruits, Indian snacks, handicrafts, handmade carpets (Persian, handloom products, pashmina, silk carpets), home furnishings, paintings, clothes, jewelry, fashion accessories, brand cosmetics, musical instruments, herbal cosmetic perfumes, electronic items, household cleaning products, lamps and many more.

Parents bringing along children can keep them busy at the kids’ zone where every kid can jump, scream, shout, play a variety of games, play on a jumping castle with cartoon characters free of charge. Face painting and a Disney forest will also be available at the kids’ zone

The Little India restaurant, one of the most popular features, is where visitors will savour the taste and eat daily delicious, mouth-watering, tasty pure veg food made by Indian chefs. These will include Bombay Pao Bhaji, Masala Dosa, Bhel Puri, Chola Bhatura, Veg Thali, Gol Gappa (Pani Puri), sweets, ice-creams etc.

 The organisers say they are bringing a very famous international Rajasthani cultural group, a young dynamic magician, a puppeteer, folk dancers, a Dholak and Tabla player, folk musicians to entertain visitors.  Every day during the expo they will perform from 12 noon to 1pm, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm and from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

A famous illusionist magician from India will be entertaining every day along with the mega magic show for two hours.

Free SPTC bus service every hour is being provided to and from the NSC Hall all throughout the days of the expo, between 9am and 7.30pm.
