Newly formed teams off to good start

The league season got underway only a few weeks ago and some teams have already began to show their title credentials with some great early performances.

The Barclays league action has been thick and fast since the start of season, with matches being played almost every day, at either Stad Linite or Stad Popiler, while Praslin and La Digue have also been hosting their fair share of matches.

In the third division, three of the newly formed teams have been making waves in the division, with Glacis leading the crop with four wins in four games, while former football giants re-formed team Red Star sit in third place after three wins and a loss against Glacis.

West Coast Brothers are occupying second place in this division after playing five times and collecting 10 points from three wins, one draw and one loss. They are the best attacking side in this league with 20 goals scored.

Former third division title contenders Mont Fleuri lie in fourth position with 8 points.

At the other end, Seypec lie at the foot the table, winless after four games, while Mont Buxton Veterans are one spot above them with 1 point, but with the worst defensive record after conceding 23 times in only four games.

Anse Royale and Bel Air also have 1 point each, while Under-16, Beau Vallon and Mont Buxton form the middle of the table.
