SNYC holds annual general meeting |23 May 2016

The Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC) held its annual general meeting on Saturday at the Seychelles Trading Company Limited (STC) conference centre.

Present were SNYC chief executive Alvin Laurence, board members and other officials and youths.

There were general presentations on activities the SNYC has organised nationally and internationally like values for all, youth festival, youth buzz, youth conference, Sesel Enspir Mwan, gospel shows, youth fairs to name but some.

A breakdown of activities at district and regional levels revealed that more activities were organised at Anse Boileau and less at Roche Caiman and Grand Anse Mahé. Six activities were organised at regional level but fewer in the western and inner islands regions. These were due to various challenges like lack of resources, mobilisation, youth participation and weather conditions.

On an international level, officials of SNYC attended youth forums overseas.

As for its financial performance, SNYC expressed satisfaction as it was able to give back to government some money that was left over from their budget.
