National Assembly - Finance minister to answer three urgent questions |24 May 2016

This week in the National Assembly, the Minister for Finance, Trade and the Blue Economy Jean-Paul Adam will answer three urgent questions.

The questions will address the following concerns: Why the Landscape and Waste Management Agency (LWMA) has not increased the income of small contractors to meet the minimum wage, as announced in the 2015 Budget Address; the time period taken by the Minister for Finance to instruct the Department of Registrar to remove stamp duty on the purchase of land or property by first time buyers, as announced by the President in the State of the Nation Address; and when the ministry plans to review and amend the Licensing Laws and Regulations to facilitate small entrepreneurs to sell their products.

In addition, one motion has been tabled by the member for Cascade, Charles de Commarmond, calling on the Ministry of Land Use & Housing and the Planning Authority to urgently review the Density Policy to allow for the construction of more houses.
