Eugenia Sangol celebrates 103rd birthday |31 May 2016

 

Eugenia Sangol celebrated her 103rd birthday on Friday at her home at Mont Plaisir, Anse Royale.

Present for the occasion were the Minister for Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports Vincent Meriton, Anse Royale district administrator Jim-Roy Jeannevol, friends and family.

During the ceremony Ms Sangol was handed over a hamper by the district administrator who also read to her the content of a letter sent by President James Michel on the occasion of her birthday.

Ms Sangol has only one son and five grandchildren. She spends most of her days relaxing and watching television.

Minister Meriton pointed out that reaching 103 years old is a milestone that will mark the Anse Royale district, adding that Ms Sangol should be proud of her life and will always be remembered for her hard work.

A member of the senior citizens committee May Chetty, who also attended the ceremony, took the opportunity to express her warm wishes to Ms Sangol.
