Top world artists regale Seychellois crowd |02 June 2016

Top international music artists were in Seychelles recently where they wooed Seychellois fans with their performances.

First came top Jamaican artist Charly Black who gave us an amazing performance in Victoria and Praslin. This was followed soon after by Goodlyfe singers Radio & Weasel who performed live at the Mini Stadium (La Promenade field) in Victoria.

Despite heavy rainfall, many people flocked to the stadium to dance and enjoy themselves to the music of the artists.

Radio & Weasel delighted their Seychellois fans with some of their most popular songs such as ‘Breath Away’, ‘Magnetic’ and ‘Amaaso’.

Goodlyfe Crew is a Ugandan music group and its main performers are Moses Radio (born Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo) and Weasel (born Douglas Mayanja). The duo’s songs have known much success on Ugandan radio. Starting with ‘Nakudata’ in 2008, the duo released ‘Lwaki Onumya’, ‘Zuena’, ‘Nyambura’ and ‘Bread and Butter’.

During the Radio & Weasel show Seychellois artists such as Jakim, Mercenary, Gunz, Joseph Sinon, Swaggtunes, Cusman and Regi were also present to wow their devoted fans.

The musical show also saw performances by Mauritian singers.

Local artist Elijah, the main organiser of the show with the help of other organisers, told Seychelles NATION that another top artist will soon be performing in Seychelles.

“The show was a total success. Despite heavy rainfall, the show went on as planned. We all know that Seychellois women are not too keen to get their hair wet especially after going to the hairdresser, but this time around they threw caution to the wind. There was a really good vibe on Saturday night. We tried really hard to make entrance to the shows affordable so that everyone could come and enjoy,” he said.

“We have had Charly Black, Radio & Weasel and soon another top performer, Konshens, will take the Seychellois audience by storm, so be ready,” he said.

Elijah also took the opportunity to thank all the sponsors mainly Phoenix Beer, the Minister for Culture and Tourism Alain St Ange, principal secretary for culture Benjamine Rose, Deba Store and DJ Mad Man.
