Seychelles suffer 4-0 defeat against Swaziland

Seychelles suffered a second defeat in as many matches on Monday when they went down 0-4 to Swaziland in group A of the ongoing Cosafa Castle Cup in Namibia.

After losing their first match 0-1 to Madagascar on Saturday, Seychelles had to react and get a win to keep alive their chances of going through to the knockout stage, but the team coached by Ralph Jean-Louis could once again not hit the target as they leaked in four goals against Swaziland.

Felix Badenhorst followed up his brace in Swaziland’s opener with another two goals to move to the top of the scorers charts at the competition.

His first on 14 minutes saw him neatly tuck the ball away with his left-boot after a low cross from the left, before he rammed the ball home from close range for his second 10 minutes before the break.

According to reports, Swaziland’s other two goals in the second half were crackers. First Njubulo Ndlovo crashed the ball home from 30 metres and then with virtually the last kick of the game, Wonder Nhleko converted a free-kick.

Swaziland have now soared to the top of group A with four points, the same total as Madagascar who played a goalless draw with Zimbabwe in the day’s other match.

Swaziland lead Madagascar on goal-difference. They have 6 goals for and 2 against for a difference of +4, while Madagascar have a difference of +1 (1 goal for and 0 against).

In today’s last round of group clashes, Seychelles will play Zimbabwe and Swaziland will meet Madagascar.
