Newly crowned beauty queen meets tourism minister |15 June 2016

 

Miss Seychelles … Another World 2016 , Christine Barbier, accompanied by her 1st and 2nd princesses -- Lianne Barbe and Samiya Albert -- were received by Tourism and Culture Minister Alain St Ange at his office at Espace.

Miss Barbier and her two princesses were accompanied by their parents for the meeting that was also attended by Sherin Naiken, the chief  executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) and Gretel Banane from the events department of the STB.

“I congratulate you Miss Seychelles for winning the crown as I congratulate both your first and second princesses. By participating in this beauty with a purpose pageant you have done yourselves proud and you have made your parents proud,” Minister St Ange told Miss Seychelles in the presence of her princesses and their parents.

The minister also told the 2016 title holders not to be perturbed by the negative comments by some on social media when he assured them that the STB will ensure that their year as title holders is full with activities that will raise their profile.

“We shall open doors for you and we wish you success and all the satisfaction that comes with it. Be true to yourselves and remember each and everyone of you that you are first and foremost a Seychellois proudly living and working for your Seychelles,” Minister St Ange said.
