Port Glaud loses oldest woman |22 June 2016

She would have celebrated her 105th birthday in September but   Josephine Bibi, the oldest woman of Port Glaud, passed away quietly on Friday.

Mrs Bibi lived with one of her daughters, former teacher and Assembly member of the district, Ginette Gamatis.

Mrs Bibi’s funeral will take place at the parish’s church this afternoon after a wake at Mrs Gamatis’ residence.

Last year when she celebrated her 104th birthday, her family hosted a wonderful party for her and still able to walk aided by her grandchildren, Mrs Bibi was serenaded to the beautiful tune of Jany De Létourdie’s song entitled Manman.

Mrs Bibi, known by everyone at Port Glaud, will be sadly missed.

Our sincere condolences go to the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and relatives of Mrs Bibi.
