Nail extensions the new trend in Seychelles |24 June 2016

Nail extensions are artificial nails created by using a nail product to extend the nail past the edge of the natural nail.

Down at the Day at the Spa, SamiaCupidon offers services for one’s well-being from head to toe.

Upon completing her wellness and spa course at the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) she is a qualified beauty and massage therapist.

She has been running her own business for the past five years but she moved to Aarti Chambers eight months ago.

The services being provided in her spa are massages, manicure, pedicure, nail extension, hairdressing, facial and waxing treatments.

According to her most female clients like pampering themselves with nail extension, pedicure, hair set and facial while most male clients enjoy massages and pedicure.

“I’ve got specific clients who likedoing nail extension because it’s a long lasting treatment and it stays on the nails up to 1 month.

There are different kinds of extension such as acrylic nail extension, French nail extension and gellishextension.

The product used to create nail extensions using gel or gel nails is gel, not to be confused with acrylic nails, which are created using liquid monomer and polymer powder.

“Most of my clients love the gellish nail extension because there is aglossy finish to the nails,” she said.

She added that the gellishnail extension is a one hour treatment and it brings various benefits as it stays on the nails up to 1 month.

Gel does not cause damage to the natural nail and can be used to strengthen, protect and promote growth in the natural nail but acrylic or gel or a combination of both can be applied over the entire nail.
