Tourism academy students head for work attachment in Mauritius |27 June 2016

A group of students following their Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (ADHM) at the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) will be leaving the country soon for their work attachment in Mauritius.

The ADHM students will be based at the Constance Belle Mare Plage for three months.

This is the seventh cohort of ADHM students to go to Constance Belle Mare Plage for such work experience under the programme.

After completing the three months in Mauritius, the students will then have nine months exposure in hotels here in Seychelles.

The group of students were presented with their tickets at the academy last week in the presence of the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange, principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune, chief executive of the Agency for National Human Resource Development Terrence Françoise, the STA principal Flavien Joubert, management staff as well as the parents of those students.

In his short speech, Mr Joubert wished the group bon voyage and a successful attachment in Mauritius.

He called on them to apply all that they have learned here as well as to grasp new knowledge and experiences at the Constance Belle Mare Plage.

Minister St Ange told the students that these initials steps in their training are vital to see how they will make it in the  tourism industry.

He wished them success adding that it is this success that Seychelles needs, thus the students should make themselves and the country proud.

“You are now formally entering the industry that remains the pillar of our country’s economy. The country needs you which is why we are investing in you. On the other hand you and your parents believe in this industry and in our tourism academy, so let us make it work for you and for Seychelles through your continued hard work and dedication,” said Minister St Ange
