Konshens wows enthusiastic crowd with explosive concert |01 July 2016

Over the past three years Jamaican singer Konshens has been riding the waves of success stemming from his numerous hit singles such as ‘Gyal a Bubble’, ‘Siddung’, ‘Winner’, ‘Bad GYAL’, just to name a few. This success has culminated and created a demand for the dancehall star around the world, and even in Seychelles.

Konshens performed live at the mini stadium (La Promenade field) in Victoria on Tuesday night despite the recent passing away of his older brother Delus.

Delus was to accompany Konshens at the concert on Tuesday.

“Heard this is by far the record for people in any show on this island and also in this stadium,” Konshens wrote on IG. “Thank you Seychelles. Mahé Island. Nuff love. My bro was booked for this show too so I had to rep for both of us. I appreciate all the love and all the offers of condolences. Thank you so much for your kind words.”

The concert was fairly well attended, and the Jamaican artist did not hold back from giving the best performance, lasting over an hour. Konshens had a good show in putting up an energetic performance with hit songs that the Seychelles audience know very well, such as ‘Gyal a Bubble’, ‘Bruk Off Yuh Back’, ‘Couple Up’, among others.

The artist, who did not fail to wow the crowd, was able to get the audience engaged in the concert.

During the gig, Konshens stated: “We only live once, and life is short. We all need to take time to appreciate what we have today, because we never know what can happen tomorrow”.

Before Konshens came up to wow the crowd, local artists such as Mercenary, Gunz, Cus Man and Jakim, along with others entertained the audience.

The organisers of the show – Elijah, Deba Store and Trois Frères Distilleries and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture – were really pleased with the turn-out at the concert despite heavy rain.
