No change in electricity tariff for next three months |02 July 2016

There will be no change in electricity tariff for the next quarter from July 1 to September 30, 2016 based on the average price of fuel for the period under review.

The announcement was made yesterday by the chairman of the Seychelles Energy board, Yves Choppy, who said this will have no major bearing on PUC’s operational and maintenance costs.

“As a result, there will be neither increase nor decrease in electricity tariff rate for all consumers and in all sectors, be it domestic, industrial or commercial between July 1 and September 30, 2016,” said Mr Choppy.

The last time such an announcement was made was in April 2016.

The next review will be announced in October 2016.
