‘Express yourself video’ competition |02 July 2016

CWS rewards winners

Cable and Wireless Seychelles (CWS) has rewarded the winners of the ‘Express yourself video’ competition organised to engage local contract producers to showcase their talent in producing local videos.

The competition had four categories which was Sports, Adventure/Daring, Scenery and Dancing and was launched on June 16, 2016.

The video was posted on the CWS Facebook page, and people had to vote for their favourite video via Facebook.

The prize giving ceremony took place during the National Expo in the Cable & Wireless stand in the presence of the National Arts Council’s chief executive Jimmy Savy, the CWS director for human resources Thomas Dauban, along with other guests.

The grand winner was Tama Bristol with his video ‘Never Forgive you’, followed in second place by Erol Agricole with his video ‘Best of Seychelles’ and Unels Bristol in third place with his video entitled ‘Bor Lanmer’.

Tama said he got inspired by the ocean that surrounds us.

“I enjoy being in the ocean, so I wanted to create a video on marine life and surfing, along with underwater photography,” he said.

Mr Dauban pointed out that CWS always wants to promote our local artists.

“We wanted to engage our local contract producers to participate in the competition. Recently we launched the Cable Tune TV to promote our local artists. All the winners’ videos will be broadcast on our channel, and we have plans to create more videos from the winners of the competition,” he said.
