H. Savy Insurance donates cheque to NGO |26 July 2016

H. Savy Insurance Co. Ltd has donated a cheque for over R70,000.00 to non-governmental organisation Light Amidst My Path (Lamp) with the aim of helping troubled youths.

Lamp has partnered with H. Savy Insurance to implement the ‘Emotional, Health Awareness’ project which is set to start this month.

Lamp is an organisation that provides troubled youths aged between 11 and 21 with care and guidance so that they are valued by all in a nurtured environment.

The handover of the cheque worth R72,810.00 took place yesterday afternoon at the Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (Ceps) conference room in the presence of Lamp chairperson Richard Labrosse, the general manager (GM) of H. Savy Insurance Lambert Woodcock, staff from the insurance firm, among other guests.

GM Woodcock said such donations will benefit the Lamp and help the youths embrace a better future.

“H. Savy Insurance is proud to be part of such wonderful project that will help troubled youths gain a better future, a better way of life in the society. We are glad to have partnered with Lamp and to donate this cheque,” he said.

Mr Labrosse thanked H. Savy Insurance for the wonderful gesture.

“It is another milestone for our organisation. We want to be able to reach out to the youths of Seychelles and with the help of H. Savy Insurance, it will help us to better deliver our service to the youths, and provide them with a better future, a better life,” he said.

Starting from this weekend Lamp will be organising a two-week workshop whereby the youths will be provided with skills and knowledge on how they can shape up their lives. Dr Henry Naiken and her wife Beryl Naiken will lead the workshop.

All those attending the workshop will also get a copy of Dr Henry Naiken’s popular book as their working manual.

Mr Naiken stated that in Seychelles there are many youths who are having difficulties in life and through this workshop they will witness how powerful and successful their lives can be.
