Football - Aaron Agathe joins La Passe |03 August 2016

La Passe have signed Seychelles-born player Aaron Agathe who had been plying his trade in Italy.

The 22-year-old left Seychelles with his parents when he was just four years old.

Agathe started playing with Sestri Levante at the age of five (in 1991) and stayed with the club until he was 15 years old (in 2009).

He then joined the Italian Serie A side Sampdoria in 2009 on a four-year contract and played for their youth team. While at Sampdoria he was loaned to Entella in the Serie B, the Italian second tier.  Sampdoria loaned the player twice to Lavagnese in the Serie D.

Back in Seychelles with his mum, Agathe has opted to play for La Passe and he said he is “looking forward to making my debut”.

“After two training sessions I am getting used to the weather condition and playing style,” Agathe told Sports Nation.

The player, who can play as striker and attacking midfielder, is expected to make his debut for La Passe this coming Friday against Praslin side Côte d’Or at the Amitié stadium.

“I am not sure I will be part of the starting 11 but I hope to at least come on as a substitute,” he added.

Meanwhile, defending league champions St Michel have also signed a foreign player in the shape of Emmanuel Luhey. The Ghanaian striker played for Atebubu Esperance in his home country’s top flight before joining the local outfit.

Another player to join St Michel is Seychellois Derick Pillay who used to play for Canning City in Australia.

As for St Louis, they have recruited Malagasy Tahiri Andriamandimbi from USCAF Foot FC, while Foresters have acquired the services of Ndayishimye Dumu from Flamengo FC of Burundi.

Praslin team Revengers have reinforced their squad by recruiting Kenyan midfielder Daniel Onyango from Sony Sugar FC who also played for Gor Mahia and KCB in the Kenyan Premier League.
