ISPC opens branch in Victoria |08 August 2016

ISPC has opened a new branch in Victoria which is located in the just completed Quadrant Building on Manglier Street.

The new ISPC Supermarket Fresh Victoria was officially opened on Saturday by the Minister for Finance, Trade and the Blue Economy Jean-Paul Adam in the presence of ISPC chief executive Alfred Fourcroy.

It has been a public demand since the opening of the first ISPC branch at Beau Vallon which encouraged them to open a branch in Victoria for those who could not access the other regional ISPC outlets.

The people of Seychelles can now enjoy the unique range of fresh fruits and vegetables, cheese, meat, cold cuts, yoghurt, desserts and its wide variety of drinks, the widest freshest choice at very competitive prices.

Minister Adam congratulated ISPC and its whole team which is majority Seychellois, reflecting the importance that ISPC attaches to the economy.

“We see this as the next phase of investment in the future of Seychelles by bringing more value in the economy in different ways for example about a value chain analysis within the tourism sector,” said the minister.

Mr Fourcroy said this was a way of making ISPC products available to everyone as there was some frustration before because people did not really understand the raison d’etre for the company to set up shop here.

“We came to Seychelles in the first instance to serve the hotels as there was a need and later we started opening retail shops to make the products accessible to everyone,” he said.

He noted that all the other shops are doing very well thanks to the dedicated staff members and he is proud to be part of this wonderful and positive experience.

“We want to also play our part in offering better and healthier food to all Seychellois,” he said.

He thanked the minister for the honour of opening the shop.

The shop supervisor, Maria Pothin, said that a pre-opening was held on Wednesday and they had great feedback from the clients.

She stated that their priority is to bring good services to the public.

“Even if we have good quality products the clients will not buy from us if the service is poor,” she noted.

A loyal client of ISPC, Walter Bertin, said this shop facilitates those who are in town and there are a variety of products which are being offered.

“Their prices are reasonable depending on the type of person and the budget at hand. The shop itself is not too big but you will be able to find everything you are looking for as there is a freedom of choice,” he said.

During the opening there was a special tasting of local products made from fish such as swordfish, tuna, red snapper and grouper. The snacks are prepared by renowned chefs Bradley and Terence.

Mr Fourcroy said the tasting will be a regular feature at the supermarket overtime.
