AVANI Seychelles proposes Kreol cabaret |08 September 2016

AVANI Seychelles Barbarons continues with its efforts to incorporate the country’s vibrant culture into its entertainment programme, following the success of the Bazaar Barbarons.

The management is unveiling a series of events to position the resort as the flag bearer of the country’s cultural tourism, showcasing the various aspects of the Seychellois traditional folkloric heritage.

The ‘Kreol Cabaret’ that promises to add spice to the last Friday evening of every month, starting Friday September 30, 2016, will feature an exciting cultural journey through Seychelles’ rhythmic dance moves starring popular showbiz entertainer Joseph Sinon and the Tanmi Group.

The show with dinner is expected to add spice to the evening and provide the hotel’s guests with a rich tapestry that retraces the various music and dance moves of our islands.

Spearheading these innovative events to bring back the local cultural traditions to the fore, the general manager of AVANI Seychelles Barbarons, Stephane Vilar, said:

“AVANI Seychelles Barbarons is pleased to launch the first ever CABARET in Mahé, showcasing the culture and tradition of Seychelles, in collaboration with Joseph Sinon, renowned artist for his sense of humour and singing, accompanied by his band and dancers, to relate the history of the sega dance. A promising and entertaining unique monthly event, where a Creole dinner will be served, revisited with Asian flavours from our restaurant Tamarind. AVANI Seychelles Barbarons will dedicate this weekend to bring back memories in Seychellois heart, by opening its doors to such an event at your favourite hotel.”

The Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St Ange, praised the resort’s efforts in incorporating the country’s culture into its entertainment programme.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and on my own behalf we say congratulations to AVANI Seychelles Resort & Spa for introducing the Kreol Cabaret at the hotel from the 30th of this month. We have also taken note of the fact that this event will repeat itself every end of every month and this information we shall ensure is disseminated through our offices. Your effort to showcase the Seychellois culture to your guests demonstrate that as a tourism establishment you are working with us to protect our culture through tourism, the industry that is today the pillar of our economy. In so doing you, like us, are putting our people at the centre of the tourism development of Seychelles and for this we say thank you. We take this opportunity to wish you all the success with the Kreol Cabaret at the AVANI Seychelles Resort & Spa.”

These events will surely position the resort on a unique footing in its quest to blend the Seychellois culture into its tourism product. A true match made in these Paradise islands!
