STA students gauge public’s knowledge of our tourism industry |27 September 2016

STA students testing the knowledge of members of the public of our tourism industry

A group of students from the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) have had the chance to assess how much members of the public know about our tourism industry.

Last week third year students following the Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (ADHM) at the STA were present at the Bois de Rose Complex and Market Street in Victoria to test people’s knowledge about our tourism industry.

Armed with a basket of questions, the students randomly chose locals present at the time and tested their knowledge about tourism.

All the names of those who got the right answers were placed in a lottery with interesting prizes to be won.

The senior coordinator for ADHM, Brigitte Joubert, stated that such activity will make the citizens more aware of what is happening in the tourism field in Seychelles.

“The activity was to commemorate tourism week. As a tourism academy that trains people interested in working in the tourism field, we wanted to create awareness of not only the academy but also tourism in general,” she said.

The draw for the 25 winners took place yesterday at the STA academy and they are: Farabeau Madeleine; Marvis Confait (Roche Caiman); Sandra Adella (Pointe Larue); Simon Espois (Mont Buxton); Marlon Montano (Mont Buxton); Minta Laboudallon (Ile Perseverance); Galina Valentin (Sans Soucis); Sheila Paul (La Retraite); Emeline Hertel (Beau Vallon); Goan Labrosse (Belvedere); Hilda Casine (Copolia); Alexandra Guichard (Union Vale); Louis Port (Au Cap); Garry Gallante (Mont Buxton); Andy Dina (St Louis); Jeffery Louise (Mahé); Cindy Alvis (Plaisance); Marlon Montano (Mont Buxton); Josette Chang-Time (Au Cap); Marie-Bernadette Joubert (Anse Aux Pins); Ruby (Sacos); Christine Germain (Port Glaud); Christelle Mousbé (Anse Aux Pins); Rojer Arrisol (Glacis) and Stella Denis (Air Seychelles).
