National Assembly - Vincent Meriton proposed as new Vice-President, Macsuzy Mondon as Designated Minister |25 October 2016

 • Four new ministers, one ambassador appointed

 

The National Assembly will today consider the appointments by President Danny Faure of Vincent Meriton as Vice-President of Seychelles and Macsuzy Mondon as Designated Minister.

This is in accordance with article 66A(11)(a) and article 75A(1) of the Constitution.

According to the National Assembly’s website a motion to that effect will be tabled by the leader of government business Charles de Commarmond.

Mr de Commarmond will also move that the assembly approve the appointments of Dr Patrick Herminie, Marie-Louise Potter, Dick Esparon and Dr Peter Larose as ministers in accordance with article 69(2) of the Constitution.

The appointment of former deputy Speaker Andre Pool as ambassador will also be put forward for approval by the assembly in accordance with article 64(1) of the Constitution.

The leader of the opposition Wavel Ramkalawan will also bring forward a motion asking for the setting up of a National Commission on Truth, Reconciliation and Unity.
