Mauritian and Seychellois delegations meet to prepare joint commissioners’ meeting

Members of the Mauritian and Seychellois technical committee of the Joint Commission of the Extended Continental Shelf of the Mascarene Plateau yesterday started a two-day meeting to prepare for a Joint Commissioners’ meeting to be held tomorrow, Wednesday.

A delegation of eleven people from Mauritius arrived in the country on Saturday for the two meetings

The technical committee preparatory meeting, which is taking place at the Ministry of Land Use and Housing, is being led by Raymond Chang-Tave, special advisor to the Minister for Land Use and Housing, while   Philippe Michaud, special advisor in the Ministry of Finance, Trade and the Blue Economy, will head the Seychelles delegation at the Joint Commissioners’ meeting on Wednesday.

The Technical Committee of the Mauritian delegation is being headed by Ambassador J. Koonjul, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade while N.K. Ballah, Secretary to Cabinet and head of the Civil Service will lead the delegation at the Joint Management Commissioners’ meeting. 

The agenda is covering among other matters, the review and adoption of the Model Agreement to conduct geotechnical survey (multi-client survey), domestication of the Joint Fiscal and Taxation Code, Review of the legal framework for the establishment of the Designated Authority as well as preparation of report for the 10th Joint Commissioners’ Meeting.
