Busy time for members of Rotary Club Coco de Mer |07 December 2016

It has been a busy time for members of the Rotary Club Coco de Mer during the past week.

Last week a few members of the club gathered in a small ceremony at the Les Li Viv headquarters to hand over certificates in computer training to the young mothers, or young mothers to be, who have joined the pro-life organisation.

Les Li Viv has been involved for so many years to assist the young ladies with the goal of giving them a second chance in life, by providing knowledge and skills so that they can cope better with their early age pregnancy.

Since 2015, with the collaboration of the Rotary Club of Profondeville (Belgium), the Rotary Club Coco de Mer responded to the needs of the organisation, whereby the Club provided kitchen refurbishment and equipment as well a proper fencing of the property.

As per the Les li Viv experience, the skills in computer science is a door open to obtaining a better quality of employment when the young mothers will (re) enter the job market.

The Rotary Coco de Mer plans to continue financing different projects, namely computer courses for the registered members of Les Li Viv.

Last Saturday, nine members of the Rotary Club Coco de Mer worked on the Anse Royale Home for the Elderly by giving a fresh coat of paint to the building. None of the members are painters by profession but the end results have pleased the residents to make a difference to this festive season.

The Rotary Club of Coco de Mer intends to continue to live by their motto ‘Service Above Self’ towards the Anse Royale Home for the Elderly and more projects are being planned.
