UK family donates to President’s Village |09 December 2016

The residents of the President’s Village recently received a donation of stationery, goodies and clothing from a family living in UK.

The Mollett family, who are on their personal holiday in Seychelles, shared some special time one afternoon with the children at the President’s Village.

The family were warmly welcomed at the village by Carol Andriamaro, the project and communications manager at the Seychelles Children’s Foundation.

In fact the visit has been made possible through exchange of e-mails since two months ago between the family and Ms Andriamaro and the family decided to combine the handover of the donation with their visit to Seychelles.

When asked why such idea, a very emotional Gina Mollett said: “We wanted to give to those special children, so we’ve put all that we could in the suitcases for them, and now by just being here, we wish that we could have more space to bring more. But we will definitely do that the next time we come back to Seychelles. Now that we have a better idea, and I have seen the beautiful smiles and the items they like, we are doing this for the children. And I wish to thank Carol for accepting our demand and offer,” she said.

Brigitte Louis, who is the acting village manager, accepted the donation on behalf of the children.

Gina’s husband, James Mollett, said that he will definitely spread the word, make the world know about the Seychelles Children’s Foundation and its purpose.

“All the good and wonderful things that you are doing for these children, special care, special needs every day, and maybe it will attract more help,” he said.

“Yes I will make some special advert once I’m back in the UK. As parents ourselves, it has been a pleasure just to be here at the same time that we’re on holiday,” he added.

Ms Andriamaro expressed her appreciation by presenting to the family a ‘Thank you’ certificate.

“Kindness is free, and it is what brings us here today. To hear that there are still good people out there who are thinking and making a difference to the lives of the children, is one of the nicest things, and on behalf of the Seychelles Children’s Foundation and the President’s Village, my warmest thanks goes to you James and Gina for such gestures which have been highly acknowledged. We are grateful. You have come and freely give to our children, and spend some of your time on your personal holiday. We look forward for your next visit here in Seychelles. Do have a fruitful holiday here in the Seychelles,” said Ms Andriamaro

The Mollett couple were also accompanied by their two children, Charlotte and Thomas.

The ceremony was held at the President’s Village in the presence of the children, Ms Louis and staff of the village.
