Anse aux Pins health centre gets facelift |28 January 2017

The Anse aux Pins health centre looks new and fresh after receiving a new coat of paint and new tiles.

The Seychelles Trading Company (STC), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), took charge of the job at a cost of R250,000 and officially handed over the newly painted waiting rooms to the Ministry of Health yesterday morning.

This was in the presence of the Minister for Health and Social Affairs Jean-Paul Adam, the chief executive (CEO) of STC Veronique Laporte, the director for community health services Nicholas Shamlaye, Anse Aux Pins health centre nurses and STC staff.

Work done to improve the appearance of the health centre includes re-flooring of the waiting area and painting of walls across the whole facility, carried out during December 2016.

The restoration was carried out by Randolph Valmont, owner of Randolph’s Maintenance. Mr Valmont also sponsored the re-flooring, worth R14,000 for the maternal and child health clinic at the health centre.

STC’s public relations officer Stephanie Felix stated that STC has been a loyal partner of the Ministry of Health and always tried to contribute to the community.

“As part of our CSR, we have been engaged for the past four years with the Ministry of Health. We always give back to the community, and we are also trying to identify other projects so that the whole community can benefit,” she said.

Accepting the restored facilities, Mr Shamlaye thanked STC for its generous gesture.

“Thanks to STC the Anse aux Pins health centre, which serves around 12,000 people from Au Cap, Anse aux Pins itself and Pointe Larue, has received a new facelift,” he said.

The Anse aux Pins health centre was officially opened in 1982.
