Constance Ephelia Seychelles celebrates 7th anniversary |02 February 2017

Constance Ephelia Seychelles, a resort at Port Launay, yesterday celebrated its 7th anniversary. For the occasion a lunch was organised for the staff, which also included a cake cutting ceremony.

Constance Ephelia Seychelles currently employs more than 700 employees and some have been with the hotel since its opening in 2010.

Constance Ephelia Seychelles is part of the group Constance Hotels & Resorts which have other hotels in islands of the Indian Ocean like in Mauritius, Madagascar, the Maldives, including Seychelles.

Tina Jouaneau, Rachelle Servina and Fatima Marie are among those faithful employees who have clocked seven years of service with the resort. And they give their impression of the hotel and why they have remained there this long.

Tina Jouaneau, Kids Club Supervisor

“I’ve decided to work at Ephelia because it is a hotel in my district. And my target is to work there for 10 years. What attracted me more with Ephelia is each time you complete one year in your job, you are given a bonus as an encouragement for remaining in that job. We also benefit from transport, food, uniforms that the hotel provides. Therefore no expenses in those areas,” says Tina.

Tina encourages staff members of Kids Club to remain in their job.

“As we are a small team we can surely work together. I always encourage them to stay. Because if I have reached this level in my job, they also can do it,” adds Tina. Constance Ephelia Seychelles’ Kids Club take in clients’ children between 4-11 years old where they take part in activities organised for them. Those under the age of 4 can still make use of the facility but should be accompanied by their parents. Clients are charged different rates depending on the hours which their kids are using the facility.

Rachelle Servina, Senior Assistant Human Resource Manager

“Why I stayed for seven years? It is about the trainings we are given. There are lots of opportunities. There is an attractive package. And we are also given promotion when needed. Here at Ephelia we are appreciated and given feedback on our work which is a real encouragement. If you show devotion in your work and as the opportunity is there, it depends on that person to show interest and love in the work. It all begins with the person itself,” says Rachelle.

Rachelle expresses her wish to see more Seychellois taking up positions at Ephelia. And that they do not just come work for a while and then leave.

Fatima Marie, In-Room Dining Manager

Fatima says she had work experience in other hotels but as her other colleagues she prefers Constance Ephelia Seychelles as the hotel offers more to its staff. She says Constance Ephelia Seychelles is a workplace which develops its staff.

“I enjoy working in hotels. Altogether I have sixteen years working in hotels. I have worked in restaurants, bars and now I have specialised in in-room dining. I find myself more at ease and has adapted well in in-room dining. It’s a department where you can access with everybody who works in a hotel like housekeeping, food and beverage, sales guest relations, travel agencies personnel and even the clients themselves by organising activities like weddings, anniversaries or birthdays, just to name a few. It’s a people orientated department,” says Fatima.

Fatima joined Ephelia as a Mini Bar Supervisor. She was then transferred to Room Service, then she did both. She then moved on to being an Assistant Manager until now as a Manager.
