2016 Youth Award Ceremony for the Anse Boileau district |03 February 2017

Young promising artists from Anse Boileau enthrall audience

Marcus Belle and Nicholas Belle (aka Ras Malgas & Nico Ras) and Trevor Bristol and Rupert Dogley (aka Swagg Tunes), are four promising artists from Anse Boileau who enthralled their colleagues and guests during the recent  Youth Award Ceremony for the Anse Boileau district.

The event was organised by Patrick Pillay, elected member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Anse Boileau in collaboration with the district administration. It was held at the district’s community centre where youths who have excelled in sports and other fields last year were rewarded for their effort and devotion in their respective disciplines.

As entertainment for the evening, the four above mentioned young artists from the district enthralled the audience with their songs which were highly appreciated.

Ras Malgas & Nico Ras sang ‘Mon Kontan Sesel’.

“We had composed the song in 2011, way before the national theme was launched. And we have held other performances before tonight’s event,” said Nicholas (Nico Ras). As for Marcus (Ras Malgas), he went solo with another song during the event called ‘Fanm ou Rwayal’.

Swagg Tunes have also been seen performing before last Saturday’s event at Anse Boileau. They were singing during the Sportsman of the Year Award the same song they sang during the award ceremony at Anse Boileau entitled ‘Gete Ou Menm’.
