Constance Ephelia Seychelles - Another BRIGHT group graduates |24 February 2017

A team of BRIGHT Level 01 graduates consisting of supervisors and middle managers, last week received their certificates and awards in a graduation ceremony at the Constance Ephelia Seychelles, Port Launay.

BRIGHT is a career development programme initiated by the Constance Hotels & Resorts group to identify and develop their internal talents by enhancing their skills, developing new skills and preparing them to take on new responsibilities.

Anton Rytvin came out Best Overall Performer and he won two nights stay for two persons in a junior suite on full board basis at Constance Lemuria Seychelles. Myra Solin won best project which was on a new kids’ play area in the south.

Present at the graduation was Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine; Anne Lafortune, principal secretary for Tourism; Jean Jacques Vallet, chief executive of Constance Hotels and Resorts; Kai Hoffmeister, general manager of Constance Ephelia Seychelles and other high officials of the Seychelles Tourism Academy and of the hotel itself.

“Constance takes training seriously and investing in training is investing in the future,” said Minister Loustau-Lalanne while addressing the gathering.

He hailed Constance Ephelia’s support and partnership towards the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) where they provide training opportunities.

He saluted the graduates’ commitment to continuously improve on their professionalism, confidence and their desire to excel.

“Working for Constance Hotels and Resorts, either at Ephelia or Lemuria, if you deliver that little bit extra, they will invest in you in return. You stand to gain in this partnership as the management will also discover your talent,” he said.

Addressing the graduates, Mr Hoffmeister advised the graduates that the process does not come to an end after that.

“What next you may ask? There will be additional responsibilities given to you, we will demand more and better from you, there will be more opportunities for you to practice what you have learned and there will be rewards of course as well,” he said.

He remarked rewards will not be always financial but often emotional and career focused ones such as when they give someone they hired, trained and coached his/her first promotion and when they reach a goal to target themselves and others.

“Goals and rewards need to be earned though we will give you the tools to achieve them. Ultimately it is up to each and everyone of you to drive your own goals and to have the desire to make it happen.

That we cannot give you. It comes from inside,” said the general manager.

Therefore he urged the students to grab this opportunity, be humble, respect their peers and their opinions, voice their own opinion and to not shy away from making decisions while being true to what they believe in.
