Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa is playing host to an exhibition of artwork by one of Seychelles’ best known artists, Alyssa Adams.

Alyssa Michele Adams was born in Seychelles in 1980 and educated at the International School, Seychelles. She left her home country to study in England at Woldingham School, Kingston University and Chelsea college of art, where her paintings were chosen by the Lord Mayor of London to hang in London's City Hall.

Since her return to Seychelles Alyssa has painted a wide range of her typical watercolour paintings, prints, postcards and hand silk screened pareos which are usually exhibited at the family’s gallery on the main island of Mahé.

All the greater is the unique opportunity for the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa to showcase in exclusivity ten pieces of Alyssa’s and four of her father's paintings at the hotel's facilities for the first time.

To celebrate the launch of the exhibition on February 17, General Manager André Borg and his team welcomed guests and friends for an elegant cocktail at the Hilton Library Pavillion. Among the distinguished guests was Laura Dauban, a lineal descendant of the Dauban family, who owned Silhouette Island for a hundred years. The British diplomat, who was visiting the Seychelles, paid tribute to her friend Alyssa in a speech that reminisced about her first

memories of the islands and her friendship to the artist.

Accompanying the article are some of Alyssa’s artwork.
