Ambassador Potter retires from public service |25 February 2017

President Danny Faure has accepted the decision of Ambassador Marie-Louise Potter to retire from public service effective March 1, 2017.

Ambassador Potter has expressed the desire to dedicate more time to family and personal projects and undertakings that had been put on hold since her appointment as Seychelles permanent representative to the United Nations in March 2012.

Ambassador Potter has had a distinguished career in public service spanning over a period of 36 years starting in education and then branching out into public administration and training, local government, parliament and diplomacy.

In accepting her desire to retire from her current post of Foreign Secretary which she has held since November 1, 2016, President Faure has thanked Ambassador Potter for her dedicated and loyal service to Seychelles and the Seychellois people.

President Faure has described Ambassador Potter as a model of leadership, generosity and compassion beyond words.

“She has been and will always remain a close compatriot and a loyal friend who I know I can continue to count on in moments of need, and in recognition of her dedication to service, I will call upon her to be my special envoy for specific missions when the need arises. I wish her the very best in her future undertakings,” President Faure said.
