Photo Eden honours old-timer |27 February 2017

Photo Eden has rewarded one of its longest-serving staff members, Henry Jean-Louis, for his 45 years of service with the company.

A ceremony was held this week at the Chilli Bar Restaurant at La Louise to reward Mr Jean-Louis and to publicly thank him for all his hard work, loyalty, dedication and contribution to the success of Photo Eden.

The old saying that a business is only as a good as the people who work in it rings true and is perhaps the reason why Photo Eden is still in business and going strong after so many years.

Also present at the long service award ceremony were the company’s managing director Julie Fayon, one of the directors, Vincent Kim Koon, along with the staff.

Mr Jean-Louis is one of two pillars of Photo Eden, the other being Phyllis Confait.

Mr Jean-Louis joined the company in 1971 as a young apprentice in the photo lab which was situated in the Michel Building.

“I started work at the age of 16, and since then I have gathered many skills in my long career. I have a great personality which enables me to get along with the staff and the management team. Since I retired last year, I am working as a consultant for Photo Eden,” he said.

Mrs Fayon added that Mr Jean-Louis was a hard working person while working at Photo Eden.

“Henry joined our company in 1971 as a young apprentice in our photo lab. During all these years he has operated five different machines in our laboratory starting with a small Durst Kodak. Having worked on all these machines, Henry has acquired a lot of experience and skills and is now a fully fledge technician. As our lab manager I depend on his expert advice on many matters concerning the laboratory. He has earned the trust of all his customers some of whom have come to know him personally,” she said.

Photo Eden currently employs six staff to serve the community of Seychelles.

In February last year, Photo Eden relocated to new premises at Orion Mall with a brand new machine, the Noritsu QSS Echo Green. This machine is environmentally friendly as it has done away with the use of chemicals.
