Bel Eau primary pupils hosted to aircraft tour |03 March 2017

Seventy pupils from Bel Eau school were on Wednesday hosted to a special tour of the A330 Air Seychelles aircraft, to learn more about in-flight service and entertainment system aboard the aircraft, along with the role of Skychef in in-flight catering.

The special visit forms part of a project on transport that the P3 and P4 is working on.

The pupils were all excited to experience all the special features of the aircraft and facilities on offer to all passengers.

There were welcomed onboard by two cabin crew – Jean-Luc Rose and Nathasha Pillay – along with First Officer Shiv Padayachy.

The children also got the opportunity to visit the cockpit of the aircraft, where First Officer Padayachy gave them details about its functioning.

P4 pupils Yahlel Labonte and Calvin Tirant were both happy to embark on a plane for the first time.

“It is the first time that we get the opportunity to embark on an Air Seychelles aircraft. We hope that one day we can come again to experience such wonderful treatment,” they said.

The manager for corporate social responsibility at Air Seychelles Josie Michaud-Payet stated that Air Seychelles is pleased to be able to help the Bel Eau primary school for their project.

“The activity was initiated by the Bel Eau primary school for their project on aviation. As the national airline, it is important that we at Air Seychelles project ourselves as a friendly airline to the community,” she said.

A teacher at the Bel Eau primary school Maryse Pointe said the tour will allow the children to better understand air transport.

“We are working on a project on transport, such as plane, boat, car among others. Recently we visited the helicopter company Zil Air, and today we wanted the children to experience an Air Seychelles aircraft. In the near future we are also planning for the children to visit a boat,” she said.

On the aircraft the children were also treated to lunch prepared by Skychef.
