Seychelles features on South African television show |23 March 2017

Seychelles was recently featured in the famous lifestyle programme ‘Expresso’ aired on South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).

Expresso is a morning show aired on SABC 3, covering a wide range of topics such as home, green living, fashion, entertainment, food, technology and travel.

The programme, which was the second episode of the themed series of “Malaria Free Destinations”, was hosted by television presenter Katlego Maboe and saw the company of travel blogger Lauren McShane. Mrs McShane is the proud host of her own personal blogging site “The Travel Manuel” where she gave an elaborate account of her experience in the beautiful Seychelles with her family.

A very insightful description of her visit was given during the interview as the travel blogger went into exciting details about her travel. Between her visits to islands namely Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, she talked about the good vibes Seychelles has to offer and the endless list of activities available to travellers – from zip lining on Mahé to relaxing beaches of Praslin.

Among her personal pleasures during her visit the blogger elaborated greatly on the cultural mix of the Seychellois culture and how well this is infused in our approach towards our visitors.

From details about the cuisine in the famous Bazar Labrin, which is one of the most popular bazaars held in the country, selling a variety of local food, beverages and handicrafts, to the unique travel means on the La Digue island, she shone immense limelight on the exotic nature of our archipelago.

Boarding only a five-and-a-half-hour flight to the Seychelles was also a great selling point to Mrs McShane, who was thrilled about the fact that there was a no visa policy to and from the Seychelles making it a great choice for South Africans who are curious about Seychelles.

Such publicity to the Seychelles is of endless importance as it creates and spreads greater awareness about our island state.

Sherin Francis, chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board shared: “The publicity given by the Expresso breakfast show will definitely give the destination enormous publicity as it is widely watched by the South Africans.”

She takes the opportunity to thank presenter Katlego Maboe and Mrs Lauren McShane for putting Seychelles in the spotlight!
