Productivity Week 2017 (March 27-31) - ‘Nurturing a Culture of Productivity and Service Excellence’ |25 March 2017

As part of efforts to raise people’s awareness of the importance of productivity, the Ministry of Employment, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation in collaboration with various stakeholders will once again commemorate Productivity Week this year under the theme ‘Nurturing a Culture of Productivity and Service Excellence’ (Kiltiv en Kiltir Prodiktivite ek Servis Ekselans).

The theme calls on employers and workers to double their efforts to increase productivity, to speed up and to work smarter, to develop a culture of hard work, to adopt best practices to achieve this goal, to nurture an attitude of  service excellence in meeting the needs of the public with high standard of quality and courtesy.

Productivity Week this year will run from Monday March 27 to Friday March 31.

Productivity Week celebrations bring together various government ministries, agencies and stakeholders in the private sector organisations to learn from each other, share experiences, network and benchmark against one another.

The main objectives of the activities organised by the ministry’s Productivity Unit in collaboration with partners is to educate, sensitise and promote productivity challenges and best practices among employers, employees, students and the population at large.

The following are the activities to be organised:

  • Launch of the National Productivity Strategic Plan 2017-2021 followed by a  Consultative Workshop  Dialogue on “Productivity Issues in the School Curriculum” for key stakeholders in the private sector for them to provide their input on productivity issues to be incorporated in the Seychelles school curriculum.
  • Session on Work Ethics for S4/S5 students of Anse Royale, Anse Boleau, Pointe Larue and English River schools to sensitise them on best practices on the Code of Conduct, attitude etc.
  • Workshop on Workplace Etiquette for human resouces professionals in the government and private sector. The workshop aims to discuss workplace etiquette to enhance client satisfaction and increase productivity.
  • Holistic development workshop to enhance productivity among other activities for Careers Guidance teachers, Curriculum Developers, Educators to better prepare the workforce for the modern world. The workshop will be facilitated by the Guy Morel Institute.
  • Entrepreneurial Development Workshop to Enhance Productivity for various entrepreneurs to  better equip them with knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship. The workshop will be done in partnership with the Entrepreneuship Development and Business Innovation Department and the Guy Morel Institute.
