Joint press release – Department of finance and department of infrastructure |31 March 2017

R1.6 million has been paid to D & C Construction (Pty) Limited

 

The department of infrastructure in the Ministry of Habitat, Infrastructure and Land Transport (MHILT) and the department of finance regret for any confusion which may have arisen regarding payment issued to D & C Construction (Pty) Limited.

In a joint communiqué released, the two departments wrote that “we would like to clarify that, according to the information provided to the department of finance, a total sum of R1.58 million (rounding off to R1.6 million) has been paid to D & C Construction Pty Limited from March 1 to 28, 2017.”

“This includes payment for all works that D & C Construction Pty Limited has undertaken for various governmental departments, ministries including MHILT,” the communiqué added.

Still according to the communiqué “MHILT and D & C Construction Pty Limited went into negotiation to find a solution to settle the outstanding R1.2 million claimed by the said construction company. And as explained by the principal secretary for infrastructure, Yves Choppy, in Wednesday’s news bulletin, both parties have agreed on a settlement amount”.
